For instance, you are working in a bank and it has more than 1 lac entries in a financial year and you need to search the specific entry in the entire year then what you need to do? For instance, you need to search entry with a specific name in narration, then you would want to know as to which conditional advance search would be applicable on this.

When you wish to apply advance search, press Ctrl+F12 on Cash + Bank Details (This method only applicable on summary of every ledger; press Alt+F12 to carry out an advance search in ledger account daily summary). Now select containing which you can see in the ledger (This means if the specific name contains ‘anywhere’ in narration then Tally will find it for you) and press enter. Now enter that specific name and press Enter two times. If any voucher has narration Rahul then Tally will find it for you.

Search a specific amount in Tally ERP 9

Search all vouchers with value 5000. For some reasons as an accountant of the organization, you’d want to know a specific voucher valued 5000. For that you don’t need to check the entire daybook. We can filter all vouchers with ledger amount 5000. First, you need to go to Gateway of Tally>Display>Daybook. Then select the period in which you want to search the amount by pressing F2. In the daybook click on F12:Range Button at the right bottom of the screen, or click Alt+F12 shortcut to access range filter screen. Then select vouchers having ledger amount equal to. In the Next column enter the amount you want to search for. In our example we are searching for voucher with amount equal to 5000. Then press Enter again and Tally will begin searching the amount and display all vouchers equal to 5000.
